The Bountiful branch of the Davis County Library, named “The Twig,” opened Monday morning, March 9. We went and got all the info on it and put together some photos of the new location!
Where is The Twig?
The Twig is located on Bountiful’s Main Street at 85 N, in what used to be the Wight House. It is one door down from Mae’s The Gathering Place and just across the street from the Bountiful Davis Arts Center.
When is The Twig open?
The Twig officially opened for business Monday morning, March 9. A grand opening is scheduled for March 25, but library will still be operating before then. Their hours will be:
- Monday-Thursday 10 am – 9 pm
- Friday-Saturday 10 am – 6 pm.
Will The Twig operate like the normal library?
The Twig will operate almost completely like the regular library.
- You will be able to go in, check out books and other materials, use the Wifi and the study spaces, the computers, the printers, the telescopes, and soon the 3D printer.
- Children’s story time will also begin again next week and will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 am.
- The Twig also has a drop box out front for you to leave your books.
But there will be a few limitations at The Twig.
- There will be no meeting rooms and more limited programming for events due to the size of the space.
- There will also be limited parking along Main Street, but additional parking can be found in the back. However there is no handicap accessibility in the back, so wheelchairs and strollers may need to go around the front of the building.
- With these limitations, curbside pickup will be available for you to get your books and other materials.
How long will The Twig be open?
The Twig will continue in operation for the full 18 months until renovation on the main Bountiful Branch Library is completed in 2027.
Bathroom Tiles
If you or your child decorated a tile that was displayed in the children’s restrooms at the Bountiful Library, library staff removed those tiles before construction started on the library.
Tiles can be picked up at the new location.
