Viewmont Baseball claimed a series win this week over cross-town rival, Bountiful, winning the first two games before falling in the third. 

Game 1 ended early in the fifth winning after Viewmont shut out Bountiful 11-0. The Vikings scored six runs with only four hits in the first inning before finding their winning five in the 4th inning. 

In Game 2, The Vikings held off a late-game Bountiful rally to keep an 11-6 win. Viewmont got off to a hot start again with four runs in the first inning. The Vikings advanced their lead with a two-run home run at the top of the fourth and cemented their win with a three-run home run in the 7th inning. 

The Redhawks started finding their momentum in the series in the fifth inning of Game 2, finding all six runs in the last three innings. They carried that momentum into Friday night’s Game 3. 

After two scoreless innings, Viewmont took a 2-0 lead in the third. However, a massive hit from the Redhawks equalized the scoreline in the fifth inning. Bountiful claimed its first lead in the series shortly after before riding that momentum and keeping the Vikings scoreless to a 10-2 victory. 

The Vikings Varsity Baseball team now takes on Alta beginning on Tuesday, March 31, at Viewmont High. 

The Redhawks take on Brighton High with a home game at Bountiful High the same night.
